The gothic rock genre was just beginning to become popular during the early 1980s, and The Cure became one of the most recognized bands of the decade with hit singles including Let’s Go to Bed, Just Like Heaven and Lovesong. Since their initial debut release of Three Imaginary Boys, The Cure has released over twelve studio albums and over 30 singles.
