Though he began his musical career as a drummer, Terry McMillan is most known for his prowess on the harmonica. In the mid-1970’s, Nashville was overflowing with harmonica players, but very few had McMillan’s skill. He began touring with country music legend Chet Atkins in 1975, and, after taking a few years at the end of the decade to try a solo career, he quickly rose to the top of the session-musician game. McMillan has played alongside country stars like Dolly Parton, Randy Travis, and Merle Haggard, and mainstream hit makers Johnny Cash and Ray Charles.
