Famous for his bluegrass mandolin acts, Sam Bush started the ‘newgrass’ style of music, a blend of traditional bluegrass and modern rock that has inspired several musicians and vocalists. He formed the New Grass Revival in 1971, with hits including Howlin’ at the Moon in 1998 and Ice Caps: Peaks of Telluride in 2000. He is not only a bluegrass vocalist, but also an instrumentalist on the fiddle and guitar, winning the title of National Fiddle champion at the young age of 15.
