An American R&B and soul singer from St. Louis, Missouri, Michael McDonald has earned his claim to fame for his smooth and husky voice and unique collaborations with artists such as Steely Dan and his work as a member of the Doobie Brothers. Michael launched his music career by playing in several bands in his hometown of Ferguson, Missouri, but soon began touring with Steely Dan and produced music with the band, The Doobie Brothers in the mid 1970s. His solo career allowed him to launch songs such as On My Own with Patti Labelle, and the hit song, Your Love Keeps Lifting Me Higher.
