Founded by songwriter and guitarist Dave Mustaine in 198, Megadeth was formed after Dave left he heavy metal band Metallica, and soon became a popular American thrash metal band that led the thrash metal movement of the era. Megadeth has released eleven studio albums, two compilations and six live albums and earned international success in the 1980s with a Grammy nominated release and double-platinum and gold albums.
