An American record producer and rapper, Jermaine Dupri, also known as JD was born in Asheville, North Carolina and produced his first chart-topper at the young age of eighteen with his work with artist Kris Kross. He later worked with artists including Lil Bow Wo, Da Brat, Destiny’s Child and TLC, and also helped Mariah Carey with the album, The Emancipation of Mimi. He worked on several releases with Mariah Carey and R&B singer Usher in 2004 and 2005, and released top hits including Gotta Getcha with Johnta Austin, and Everytime Tha’ Beat Drop with singer Monica.
