After some success there, Bela and friend Victor Wooten formed The Flecktones in 1988. The band recorded many songs, including Grammy nominated hits “Magic Fingers” and “Blu-bop”. Fleck has worked with numerous artists over the years. He played alongside Dave Matthews, Phish, The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, and Bruce Hornsby. He received a Grammy for his collaboration with country and bluegrass star Alison Brown. Fleck continues to record and tour to this day, recently releasing an album with Chick Corea.
